| Adriane Cale has worked for some of the most recognizable companies in the retail photography industry. She always had an interest in photography, but a small ad in a local newspaper changed her interest into a career. In the winter of 2004, she took a job with LifeTouch Church Directories working as a sales person, and learning the art of posing from one of the best photographers the company employs, Lloyd Thomas. After moving to Northern Illinois in 2005, Adriane became employed as a Field Photographer for PCA International, another church directory publisher. With PCA, Adriane honed her craft working with a variety of clients all over Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois, and Indiana; sometimes photographing 20 families a day. Unfortunately not all great jobs stay great, and Adriane left the company at the end of 2005 to move back home to central Illinois. The move turned out to be the best move of her life, because shortly after she met the man of her dreams and got a part time job as a photographer at a local retail portrait studio. She married Jeremy in May of 2006. But, due to an injury, Adriane left the studio and after healing, began Through The Looking Glass Photography in June of 2006. After growing up in Pana and Nokomis, Illinois and living all over the state, Adriane decided that the perfect place for the studio would be the beautiful town of Shelbyville, Illinois. In April 2007, Adriane and Jeremy relocated from Decatur to Shelbyville, and brought Through the Looking Glass Photography with them. The studio opened June 1st, 2007 in a small room located across the street from the Shelby County Courthouse. In March 2008, the studio was moved to the lower level of Kidd's Archery. But, due to the poor economy, the studio has since been relocated to their apartment above DJ's Custom Framing, at 115 1/2 East Main St. Jeremy Cale assists Adriane with shoots on occasion, but is mostly there for moral support. |
