Frequently Asked Questions
Where are you located?
Due to the poor economy, we had to go over our business strategies, and see where we could make some changes. We came up with two
different options. 1. Raise our prices and stay at the new location, and 2. Move the studio to our apartment, which is plenty big enough,
and keep our prices the same. We thought long and hard about the situation, and came up with the best solution for both ourselves
(Adriane and Jeremy) and our customers.

We are now located above DJ's Custom Framing at 115 1/2 East Main St in Downtown Shelbyville. Our door is the bright orange door
between DJ's and Possum's Treasures. Yes, there are some stairs (quite a lot in fact), but it's well worth the climb to save some money,
don't you think?

What are your hours of operation?
We're currently open by appointment only. Contact Adriane at 217-542-1586 to schedule a time to come into the studio for a consultation
or sitting. In-studio consultations aren't necessary, but are a great way to get to know the photographer, and go over anything that needs
to be addressed. If you option to not do an in-studio consultation, you'll be asked a few questions over the phone when you book your
sitting.

How long will my sitting last?
That all depends on the subject(s) being photographed. Pets, babies, and small children under the age of 4 all need time to get used to
their surroundings and any new people they might encounter, so we allow at least 1 hour for the sitting. Couples and families with older
children may only take 20 or 30 minutes, depending on a number of factors. We will discuss the time allotment in detail at your
consultation.

Why do I need a consultation before I book my sitting?
While they aren't necessary, we provide a free consultation to all our prospective and current customers before booking each sitting for
several reasons. The consultation is a good time to get to know your photographer, and bring any children that you think might be timid in
new surroundings. This gives them a chance to familiarize themselves with the studio and the photographer. Also at the consultation, we'll
go over any questions you might have on what to wear or what backgrounds are available. We'll also discuss how much time the sitting
may take, and go over sitting fees, if any, and prints prices, as well as familiarize you with the variety of other products we offer.

How long after my sitting will I wait to view my proofs?
Proofs are viewable online just a few days after your sitting, the max being 5 business days. You will be given a password at the time of
your sitting that will allow you to access your proofing and ordering gallery. You can share that password with your family and friends, if
you choose.

I don't have access to the internet, how can I view my proofs?
You may make an appointment to come to the studio and view your proofs.

What methods of payment do you accept?
We currently accept all major credit cards and debit cards, and of course checks or cash.

When do I pay for my sitting?
We do not charge sitting fees for Family, Children, or Baby Portraits. We offer packages for Senior Portraits and Engagement Portraits.
These packages include a spending credit to be used on the online proofing gallery when placing your order, and a small fee for the
sitting, as Senior Portraits and Engagement Portraits take longer than Family, Children, or Baby Portraits sittings.

I am placing my order online, how should I pay?
We now require all prints to be paid for when ordering. You can choose to "Email Order", which will submit the order to us and require you
to mail us a check before your order will be submitted to the lab. But, to get your pictures quicker, you can also choose "Pay with PayPal".
Your order will be submitted to us, and you will be redirected to PayPal, where you will be able to pay with your credit card. You DO NOT
have to have a PayPal account to use this option.

Once my order is placed, how long will it take for me to get my prints?
We do not print our own prints. Our prints come from a lab in New York. Your order will be submitted to the lab within 24 hours of our
receiving the payment. Delivery from the lab can take anywhere from 3 to 6 business days, depending on the time your order is
received. Portraits are normally available after 10 business days. You will be contacted when your prints are available for pick up
or when
they have been shipped to you.

Are you able to touch up things like baby drool, acne, scars, etc?
Cosmetic retouching is available at no cost. Inform the photographer of what you would like touched up during the sitting or consultation.
Images will not be retouched unless the photographer is aware of the desire to do so.

My child looks great in one picture with his sisters, but I like his sisters better in another picture. Is there any way to
combine the two pictures?
It's a possibility. Depending on the angle the subject is turned in the two pictures, and if the subject is roughly the same size in both
images, we can combine two images. No guarantees are made, we will try our best. Due to the time and technique it takes to do such
work, images that are combined will be found in the "Enhancements and Collages" section of your gallery, and will be priced differently
than standard prints.

What is the difference between standard prints and enhanced prints?
Standard prints are the original images as they were taken, with only minor retouching and color correction. An enhanced image is
anything that is dramatically altered from the original. Images such as "Touch of Color" images and collages, as well as digital alterations
(see previous question) are considered enhancements. Enhancements are not included in your discounted print price, and are priced this
way because of the time it takes to create such images.

I received my order, but I'm missing a print. What now?
In the event that we forget to order a print for you from the lab, we will happily reorder one for you in a bigger size, or give you a gift card
toward your next order.

Why is your studio's name so long!?!?!
I ask myself the same thing every day! Well, Jeremy and I both really enjoy the stories "Alice in Wonderland" and "Through the Looking
Glass." We even had an Alice in Wonderland themed wedding. So when we were thinking of names for the studio, my mother came up
with Through the Looking Glass Photography, and the name just stuck. We've considered changing it a few times, but I think it's here to
stay.
